1 Corinthians 15:1-11 Devotional

I Corinthians 15

“that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, 5 and that he appeared to Cephas,[b] and then to the Twelve.”

Paul explains the significance of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ in this chapter of Corinthians. In verses 3-5 he states the core action of Christ’s redemptive work; Jesus died for our sins, was buried, and was raised on the third day.The remainder of the chapter focuses on the authenticity, mystery, and victory of the Resurrection.

In the chaos of daily life, often discouraging news, and tempting perception that evil has triumphed over good.I find that I also need to be reminded of the message I received.Jesus died for my sins, was buried, and was raised on the third day. There is so much hope to be gained from this good news.Jesus is alive! The grave and all who mocked Him while on the cross did not win.Our Great God has the final word. So, let me not be discouraged by what I see, think or feel.Instead, let me turn my heart to the cornerstone of the faith- the Resurrection, and let its significance affect my life.Let me turn my mind to the cornerstone of the faith and hold fast to that which I have received and on which I stand.
